We process information you provide when creating an account, booking an experience, buying or receiving a gift card, accepting an invitation or contacting us: your name, email, telephone number where requested, billing details, delivery addresses, experience choices, dates, participants, booking and payment status, and related communications. A profile photo is optional and is hosted on our website in a dedicated avatar folder. Do not upload information you do not wish to share.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We also process technical information needed for operation and security, such as IP address, browser, access logs and session identifiers. Payments are processed by the providers shown at checkout; we do not store your full card number or security code. Physical letters are personal: our team does not read their contents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Accounts, bookings, experiences, gift cards, letter management and delivery: performance of a contract or steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). Invoicing and compliance with tax or other legal obligations: compliance with the law (Article 6(1)(c)). Fields marked as required are necessary for these purposes; without this information, we may be unable to provide the service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Security, fraud prevention, handling enquiries and protecting legal rights: legitimate interests in protecting our service, customers and company, balanced against your rights (Article 6(1)(f)). Invitations and gifts intended for another person: our legitimate interest in fulfilling the sender\u2019s request, limited to the necessary contact. Promotional messages and optional technologies requiring consent may only be used after specific consent (Article 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time without affecting earlier processing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you receive an invitation or gift card without having given us your details directly, your name or email was provided by the person who made the booking or purchase. We use this information to deliver the invitation or gift and provide the associated service. We do not create an account in your name without your involvement. You may ask for information, object to further contact or request deletion of data that is no longer needed. Anyone providing another person\u2019s details must have a lawful reason, share only what is necessary and make them aware of this policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Access is limited to authorised people and necessary service providers: hosting and technical support, booking management, payment processing, email delivery, accounting and postal operators. The website uses WordPress, WooCommerce, Amelia and the custom Lembrar-me-ei plugin; hosting is provided by Hostinger. Using a component installed on the website does not itself mean that all data is sent to its developer. Recipients receive only the data needed for their role and are subject to applicable data protection obligations. We may also disclose data to authorities where required by law. We do not sell personal data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some technology providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where this occurs, the transfer must be covered by a European Commission adequacy decision or legally recognised safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses and supplementary measures where needed. We keep data needed to store and send your letter for the chosen period \u2014 1, 5, 10 or 20 years \u2014 and until delivery and any related issues have been resolved. Returned letters are kept for 6 months, as set out in our service terms. Order and invoicing records are kept for applicable tax and statutory periods; information needed to protect legal rights may be retained until the relevant legal time limits expire. These grounds may prevent immediate deletion of a paid booking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Account details, optional photos, enquiries that do not lead to a contract and technical logs are kept only as long as needed for their purpose, security or legal obligations. If you request account closure, we assess which data can be deleted or anonymised and explain what must be retained and why. Backups follow their replacement cycle and are not used to restore deleted data for routine use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The website uses cookies and technical storage for authentication, security, the shopping basket, checkout and language preferences. You can manage cookies in your browser, but blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent these features from working. Non-essential analytics or advertising technologies require prior consent where required by law. The theme and Elementor fonts are hosted on our server. We apply proportionate technical and organisational measures, including access controls and protected communications. No system can guarantee absolute security. Keep your password confidential and report suspicious access to us. Children\u2019s participation should be arranged by their legal representative; we do not request more data about children than is needed for the experience.
